The Florida Highway Patrol has shut down a major stretch of I-10 following Hurricane Michael.
According to an advisory issued this morning by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, I-10 is closed in both directions from Mile Marker 85 to Mile Marker 166 due to “extremely hazardous conditions” caused by Hurricane Michael.
Florida Department of Transportation workers are attempting to remove hurricane debris from the interstate, but it isn’t clear how long this will take or when I-10 is expected to reopen.

Hurricane Michael was a Category 4 Hurricane that left downed trees and power lines on the interstate.
Transportation officials are encouraging drivers to remain in place unless an emergency requires them to travel. The interstate closure has caused severe traffic backups and has left many drivers stranded.
In addition to the interstate closure, numerous truck stops have been shut down due to the Hurricane.

- Love’s 453 in Cottondale, FL – fully closed; no services.
- Love’s 561 in Mossy Head, FL – partially open with CASH ONLY.
- Love’s 325 in Tifton, GA – partially open without running water.
- Love’s 566 in Ozark, AL – Roadside Assistance unavailable.
- No Road Calls available near Cottondale, FL.
