Generous truck driver leaves $2,000 tip for waitress

Published:

A Mississippi truck driver walked into a small-town diner for a meal and left changing a life.

On May 13, 2018, truck driver David Platt left a surprising $2,000 tip for waitress Brenda Pearson at the 4 Star Diner in Roland, Oklahoma.

After getting to know the waitress, Platt felt like she could use some extra money.

“It was late and there wasn’t really anybody around so I got talking to her a little bit,” Platt said. “We talked about the Lord and about her life and her children. I got the impression that she was having a hard time of it, so I thought I’d just help her out a little bit.”

He ordered a cheeseburger and left a $1,000 tip, shocking Pearson, a mother of two.

As if that wasn’t enough, the kind-hearted trucker returned an hour later for some pie. This time, he gifted her with another $1,000.

Pearson was extremely grateful for the tip and plans to use the money to support her family: a true celebration of Mother’s Day.
