The crashes began around 10:40 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-15 (15 Freeway) between Oak Hills and Highway 138. Ten people were taken to the hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries. Seven others were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The cause of the pileup crash is still under investigation, but authorities say that dense fog caused close to whiteout conditions.
