Police say that a man’s body could have been in a truck’s trailer for as long as two weeks before it was discovered last night at a Mississippi truck stop.
The body was discovered at around 5 p.m. on August 27 at the Petro truck stop at 970 I- 20 Frontage Road in Jackson, Mississippi, according to WDAM.
The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office says that they found the body after a concerned truck driver alerted an officer who was on patrol at the Petro location.
The identity of the 71 year old man has not been released pending notification of his family.
Police have not released information on how the man died but they say that the body may have been inside the trailer for up to two weeks.
The incident is still under investigation.
