A serious crash involving multiple vehicles sent a semi trailer over a Florida bridge and into the river below.
The crash was reported this morning on I-295 northbound in Jacksonville, Florida, according to News4Jax.
Authorities say that two passenger vehicles and a tractor trailer crashed on the south end of the Damas Point Bridge, leaving a semi trailer submerged in about four feet of water in the St. Johns River while the semi truck partially dangled off of the bridge.
The truck driver was able to escape the crash without serious injury.
Firefighters report only one injury as a result of the crash.
The incident has resulted in serious traffic delays, The northbound lanes of I-295 are completely shut down at the crash site. Authorities are rerouting traffic onto Merrill Road from the northbound lanes of the interstate. Though the southbound lanes remain open, drivers are slowing to get a glimpse of the dangling truck, resulting in slowed traffic.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
