No truck parking at Florida Love’s during 10 day bike fest

Published:

Love’s Travel Center in Ormond Beach, Florida, has announced that there will be no long term truck parking starting this weekend because of an annual motorcycle rally.

The Ormond Beach Love’s is asking truck drivers to fuel and then go from March 9 -18 while the yearly Bike Week festivities take place.

Hundreds of thousands of motorcyclists are expected to attend the event, causing major traffic issues. In years past, the Florida Highway Patrol has been forced to shut down the exit near Love’s because of miles-long traffic backups.

The Ormond Beach Love’s holds a similar, shorter, motorcycle rally each fall called Biketoberfest.

Love’s issued a statement apologizing to the trucking community for the inconvenience: “Love’s, especially the team at the Ormond Beach location, understands the inconvenience for our Customers during this bi-annual event. We have engaged in more proactive communications to ensure our Customers know the effect this event has on their routes and abilities to stop and park overnight. We also hire four police officers specifically to help direct traffic at our location all day to ease the congestion in entering and exiting. We value our Customers and appreciate your business. We sincerely thank you for your understanding.”
