Portion of NB I-25 closed due to semi rollover and hazmat spill

Published:

A semi truck rolled over on northbound I-25 in downtown Denver causing a fuel spill and multiple vehicle collisions.

The highway closing was announced around 7:00 a.m. on June 15, 2018 in response to the crash that happened at I-25 and Park Avenue in Denver, Colorado.

According to the Denver Fire Department, two people were injured in the crash and transported for treatment. It has not been confirmed which vehicle(s) they were in.

Due to lengthy traffic delays, CDOT urged motorists to take alternate routes if possible.

Clean-up efforts are still underway. There is no estimated time for the highway to reopen. In the meantime, the Denver Fire Department has applied a foam blanket to the spill to control the fuel vapors.

No word yet on the cause of the crash.
