New York transportation officials have shut down the southbound lanes of I-87 near Newburgh after a major truck crash.
The crash happened before 4 p.m. on southbound I-87 at mile marker 63.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but images captured at the scene show one truck’s trailer resting on top of another trailer.
There is no word yet on whether there were injuries.
Traffic is being diverted off the highway at Exit 18. Transportation officials urge drivers to avoid the area.
