Texas cop performs selfless act of kindness for trucker who couldn’t pay for his fuel

Published:

A Texas police officer’s act of kindness and generosity toward a truck driver having trouble paying for his fuel has recently gone viral.

A Facebook post shared today by the Diboll Police Department details how Officer Eli Lenderman helped out a truck driver in need:

Wow….just wow! Last night while on patrol, Officer Eli Lenderman came to the aid of a truck driver in a big way. Officer Lenderman came across driver Lian Peng at Diboll Depot. The driver was having problems paying for his fuel due to a company card issue. Instead of being stuck at the truck stop Officer Lenderman paid for the drivers fuel in an amount close to $200. Officer Lenderman knew he could not ask for the money back even though the driver promised it would be returned. This was a huge kind gesture on the part of Officer Lenderman.
Around noon today Mr. Peng arrived at the police department and repaid Officer Lenderman. I had the chance to visit with Mr. Ping for a moment. He could not quit expressing how kind and helpful the officers on scene where to him. This is exactly the type of brave and compassionate men and women that are serving this community. I could not be any more proud to be the Chief Administrator of such fine people. Great work Officer Lenderman….Chief Baker
