This fiery dump truck crash happened because a PT Cruiser BACKED UP on Highway 360

Published:

Texas traffic cameras captured the fiery aftermath of a dump truck crash that happened on Tuesday in Grand Prairie when a car driver stopped in the middle of the roadway AND THEN BACKED UP, forcing the truck driver to take evasive maneuvers.

The crash happened around 6 a.m. on Tuesday morning in newly opened toll lanes on Highway 360, according to CBS DFW. The Texas Department of Public Safety says that the crash happened after a PT Cruiser stopped in the middle of the highway and then backed up. A dump truck driver following behind the PT Cruiser swerved to avoid the vehicle and crashed into the center barrier, causing the truck to catch fire.

Remarkably, the dump truck driver was not hurt in the crash. The PT Cruiser driver was hospitalized but is expected to survive.
