In an attempt to promote highway safety, three states have banded together for their annual joint traffic safety operation.
Minnesota, South Dakota and Wyoming State Patrol officers will be patrolling I-90 from 5 a.m. on May 25, to 4 a.m. on May 26.
As reported by Inforum, officers also plan to monitor other nearby state and highway roads along with state-line ports of entry.
Col. Craig Price, superintendent of the South Dakota Highway Patrol is an advocate for the collaboration.
“This is a great partnership between the three states,” said Price. “We always have one major objective – to ensure that motorists stay safe.”
The operation includes use of personnel with police service dogs, drug recognition experts and motor carrier personnel. The overall goal is to make a positive impact on speeding, hazardous moving violations, seatbelt use, and impaired driving.
