Truck driver dies after crashing off of Virginia highway into house

A truck driver lost his life this morning when he left the roadway and crashed into an unoccupied house near Galax, Virginia.

Police: Truck Driver May Have Suffered Medial Emergency

The crash happened around 10 a.m.

According to Virginia State Police, truck driver Johnathan D. Harding, 40, was traveling westbound on Route 58 when he left the roadway and struck a home two miles east of Galax, causing severe structural damage.

No one was inside the home at the time of the crash.

Harding was found dead at the scene.

Police say that there were no skid marks on the roadway and that they do not believe that Harding applied the brakes before crashing into the house.

Weather and road conditions were not a factor in the crash according to police.

Troopers are still investigating the crash, but they say that the Harding may have suffered from some kind of medical emergency and could have even passed away before crashing into the house.
