The Coast Guard was called in to rescue people after a semi truck went partially overboard off a freight barge in North Carolina this morning.
The incident was reported to the Coast Guard around 10:45 a.m. in Brunswick County, North Carolina, according to WWAYTV3. A truck partially fell off of the USS Brandon Randall freight barge into the Cape Fear River near Bald Head.
Images from the incident were captured by Facebook user Alek AK Boyd from the Bald Head Island Ferry.
The Coast Guard deployed a boat to assist in the rescue of an unknown number of people as a result of the incident.
No injuries were reported.
After the incident, the barge docked at the Deep Point Marina in Southport, North Carolina.
It remains unclear why the truck partially fell off of the barge.
