Hobbs was attempting to make repairs to the truck’s brakes in the weigh station’s out of service lot when the truck rolled backwards over him. Hobbs was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are still investigating the incident but they say that a preliminary investigation revealed that Hobbs failed to set his parking brake before beginning repairs.
