Trucker survived I-80 crash that decimated his cab

Published:

Two truck drivers were hurt yesterday in a crash on I-80 in Nebraska that caused the cab of one of the trucks to dislodge.

The crash occurred on April 12 around 4:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-80 at mile marker 327 near Giltner, according to 1011Now.

According to Nebraska State troopers, a semi truck driven by Georgia-based trucker Timothy Cook was moving more slowly in the right lane than a truck driven by Ohio-based driver Ibrahim Isaq. Isaq reportedly tried to move into the left lane to pass Cook but didn’t get over all the way into the other lane. The two trucks then collided, sending Isaq’s truck into the guardrail, where that secondary collision dislodged the cab from the rest of the truck.

Isaq was airlifted to a hospital in Lincoln. He is now listed in good condition.

Cook was taken to a hospital in Aurora with non-life threatening injuries.
