Two perish when semi truck crashes off Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel
A truck driver and his passenger both lost their lives over the weekend when their truck crashed off of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel and down into the water below.

The crash happened in Virginia during stormy weather around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, according to WTVR.
Authorities say that 32 year old truck driver Jervone Rakeem Hall and passenger Christopher Fenner, 29, both from Delaware, were traveling south on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel when at mile marker 12, their truck collided with a van, sending the truck crashing into the bay below.
Divers went in to recover the bodies of the men early Saturday morning. Fenner’s body was recovered on Saturday evening. Hall’s body was recovered on Sunday morning.

The four people inside the van at the time of the crash were treated for minor injuries at the scene.
The Coast Guard aided in the recovery efforts.
Authorities say that wind advisories were in place at the time of the crash and that the maximum safe speed on the bridge was 35 m.p.h.
The shoulder lane of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel at the crash site will be closed for the next few days as repairs are made to the guardrail.
The crash is still under investigation.
In February of 2017, a semi truck went over the side of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel while winds gusted at speeds of 40 m.p.h. The truck driver behind the wheel did not survive the crash.
