A family is looking for a Good Samaritan truck driver who risked his life to rescue another trucker after a fiery crash in Fullerton, California, on Tuesday morning.

The crash happened around 3:30 a.m. on the southbound 57 Freeway. Police say that 35 year old truck driver Ryan Brooks crashed into the center divider, causing the tractor to detach from the trailer and spreading debris across the freeway. The truck caught fire shortly after the crash.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Brooks’ uncle Jerry Brooks says that another trucker stopped his rig at the crash site, pulling his nephew from the fiery wreckage, according to CBS Los Angeles.

Jerry Brooks says that he wants to meet the trucker who put himself at risk to save a fellow driver: “He didn’t have to stop. It’s good to know there are good people still out there. He’s one of them. We just want to thank him. And shake his hand. Thank him.

Ryan Brooks suffered severe burns during the crash and is listed in critical condition.
