VIDEO: A Fellow Driver Stops to Help a Truck Engulfed in Flames

An extensive 20 minute long video from local news station, shows on-the-scene footage of a truck cab engulfed in flames eastbound on Interstate-80 Early Wednesday Morning.

Oct. 10 Salt Lake City, UT – Early Wednesday morning a shaken news reporter describes the details of what she is seeing in real time while witnessing this horrifying accident.

Reporter Morgan Saxton stated that, “Apparently they veered off and hit the cement barrier…and then skidded along the barrier and landed right under the overpass.”

A fellow driver, who witnessed the accident stopped immediately to help. He called to dispatch police and then crossed the highway to help direct traffic away from the fire.

Officials suspect that wet roads caused hazardous road conditions as it was raining at the time, potentially being the cause of the accident.

According to KUTV 2News, The Battalion Chief said that this area of the highway has been a problematic spot, especially in inclement weather.

The driver, had a passenger with him. Both were taken to the hospital. The driver suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries.
