As the debate over the safety of autonomous driving heats up, Arizona police have released dash cam video from a self-driving Uber car involved in a fatal crash with a pedestrian earlier this week.

The crash happened on March 18 in Tempe, Arizona.

In the video, you can see 49-year-old Elaine Herzberg walking her bike in the roadway at night. On the video, you can see that Herzberg appears in frame only moments before she was struck.

*Please note that while the video does not show Herzberg being hit by the car, it could be disturbing.

According to authorities, the Uber car was in autonomous driving mode at the time of the crash. Rafaela Vasquez, 44, was inside the Uber at the time of the crash.

Following the death of Herzberg, Uber opted to pause testing on self-driving vehicles.
