VIDEO: Georgia police chase ends in tragedy after car crashes underneath semi truck

Published:

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department has released disturbing dash cam video of a police pursuit that ended in a fatal wreck with a tractor trailer.

Police Pursuit Ends in Fatal Truck Vs. Car Crash

The pursuit began just before 8 p.m. on February 3 when a Douglas County deputy tried to pull over 30 year old motorist Billy Frazier for speeding.

After a three mile police pursuit, Frazier ran a red light and crashed into a turning truck, going underneath and then catching fire. It was only after the car crashed that police realized that there were four children inside the car.

Police pulled three of the children from the car, but Frazier and his ten year old son did not survive. The three children suffered non-life threatening injuries. The truck driver wasn’t seriously hurt.

Georgia State Patrol To Investigate Crash

The deputy says that he would likely have ended the pursuit if he had known that there were children in the car.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Frazier had a large quantity of various drugs in his possession and was driving on a suspended license while he was on probation.

The investigation has been turned over to the Georgia State Patrol.
