A truck driver told police that he was unable to stop in time to avoid crashing into a school bus full of students in Bastrop, Texas, earlier this week.
On Wednesday morning, the school bus driver was waiting at an intersection of westbound SH 71 at Tucker Hill Lane, according to KXAN. As the light turned green, the bus started to turn right and was hit by a semi truck.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said, “The driver advised that he had a yellow light, he attempted to stop and his 18-wheeler would not stop. He took evasive action, hit the shoulder and could not stop, colliding with the school bus.”
