VIDEO: Tow truck driver nearly meets his maker

Today the Michigan State Police released alarming video of a tow truck driver’s brush with death to remind motorists to slow down and give emergency vehicles room.

From MSP Metro Detroit: “We talk about slowing down in bad weather and giving us a lane. The trooper saw it coming and was trying to get another car to block the ramp. They never made it. Please give us a lane.

The crash took place in Detroit on January 17 around 10:30 a.m. As the tow truck driver is at work with a disabled car in near the Southfield Freeway exit to I-96, a car lost control on an exit ramp and came barreling toward the tow truck.

The tow truck driver spotted the out of control car and was able to get out of the way in time.

The car driver was ticketed for driving too fast for conditions.
