Walmart, CRST, sign up with in-cab camera provider Lytx

Published:

Lytx, one of the trucking industry’s leading providers of in-cab camera technology, recently announced that they have signed numerous major trucking companies as new clients, including Walmart and CRST.

In a press release issued March 6, Lytx announced that they have added several large trucking companies to their client list, including Walmart Stores Inc., CRST International, Roehl Transport, USA Truck, U.S. Xpress, Hermes Parcelnet Ltd., Dupre Logistics, Coca Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated, and Cardinal Logistics Management Corporation.

While Lytx does not specify what video services these companies will be utilizing, Lytx describes DriveCam as their “flagship” service. DriveCam uses driver-facing camera technology to allow trucking companies to provide drivers with “video-based coaching” of unsafe driving behaviors. And according to the news release, Lytx launched a new enhancement service to DriveCam in 2017 called “Lytx Video Services”, which gives managers access to “cloud-connected, continually recorded video, available on demand and in near real-time.”

In December of 2016, Walmart rolled out a voluntary driver facing camera pilot program as a way to cut down on the risk of lawsuits and costly insurance claims.

Lytx boasts that their video technology now “protects” 10 of the top 15 for-hire, less-than-truckload and truckload carriers in the U.S.
