Watch a guy drive a semi truck like he stole it — because he did

Published:

A motorist caught stunning footage of a semi truck thief who went on a rampage last Friday in southern Alberta, Canada.

Police say that the truck was stolen in Red Deer just before 10 p.m. on Friday, March 23. The truck thief used his newly stolen vehicle to ram parked cars and the outdoor patio of a restaurant before driving onto Highway 2. Because police were concerned for public safety, they deployed spike strips. Even though the spike strips severely damaged the truck’s tires, the driver continued onto the town of Airdrie, where police were finally able to bring the truck to a stop, according to Red Deer News Now.

Thirty-five year old Brandon Robert Moench was arrested and has been charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident, operation of a motor vehicle while being pursued by police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, assault of a peace officer, possession of stolen property over $5,000, two counts of failing to comply with a recognizance, failing to comply with a demand by a peace officer and uttering threats to cause bodily harm.

No injuries were reported.

Police say that drugs and alcohol are not thought to be a factor and that it was likely “just another senseless vehicle theft.”
