Suspects still at large following triple shooting on I-10 in New Orleans

A portion of westbound I-10 in New Orleans was shut down for about an hour after three people were shot today.

The shooting occurred around 12:30 p.m. on I-10 west at Morrison Road in New Orleans, Louisiana, according to NOLA.

Police say that someone in a car opened fire on another car with five occupants while both vehicles were traveling on the interstate. A two year old child, a sixteen year old, and a twenty-two year old were hit by gunfire but all three shooting victims survived and their injuries are not thought to be life threatening. A three year old and an adult woman were also inside the car but were not hit by gunfire.

After the shooting, the victim’s vehicle crashed off the road through a fence

Police closed down I-10 west between Read and Crowder Boulevard exits but all lanes have reopened.

No arrests have been made. There is no description of the shooter or the shooter’s vehicle available at this time. Police are unsure of a motive for the shooting.

The incident is still under investigation.
