An April storm is bringing dangerous winter weather conditions to the upper midwest, making driving dangerous or even impossible in some areas.
Winter Storm Xanto is developing strength and will be bringing with it up to two feet of snow in some areas. Blizzard warnings are in effect in parts of South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Kansas, Iowa, and Minnesota. Gusting winds and heavy snow is creating white out conditions in these areas and could make travel dangerous. Blizzard conditions are supposed to last through the weekend in some areas.
Roads are closing all across Western Nebraska due to dangerous blizzard conditions.

A 150 mile stretch of I-90 from Rapid City to Murdo is closed due to winter weather.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol warns that travel on secondary roads may not be an option either and that rescuers may not be able to reach stranded drivers.
Ninety miles of I-70 from Limon to the Kansas state line has closed for the blizzard.
