Woman survives wrong-way, head-on crash with semi truck on Ohio Turnpike

A woman is expected to survive after a head-on crash with a truck on the Ohio Turnpike this morning that was so intense that her car is barely recognizable.

The crash happened around 5 a.m. in Hudson, according to Fox 8.

Police say that the unidentified 25 year old woman was driving a Kia Forte west in the eastbound lanes of the Ohio Turnpike when she crashed into a semi truck head-on.

Though the woman’s car was mangled by the crash, rescue workers were able to extract her. She was taken to the hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries.

The truck driver, a 55 year old Illinois resident, was not hurt in the crash.

The crash shut down the eastbound lanes of the Ohio Turnpike for about two hours. All lanes have since reopened.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Police say that it isn’t clear whether drugs or alcohol were a factor at this time.
