Onaway Speedway, Onaway, MI: Friday, May 17–19, 2019
The Great Lakes Big Rig Challenge, 2nd Edition in Onaway, MI is coming up! If you’re in the area Friday, May 17 – Sunday, May 19, 2019 Onaway Speedway is the place to be!
Featuring Quebec style side-by-side racing, this is the only racing event of its kind in the United States. Attendees will enjoy onsite camping, live bands, and a weekend of diesel power!
Onaway Speedway is a 1/4-mile oval asphalt track built in 1983 by local racing legend Harry Moran, and was purchased by Mike Sturgill in 2017, at which point an 1/8-mile drag track was built, making Onaway Speedway home to the first uphill drag racing venue in the United States!
The Great Lakes Big Rig Challenge was inspired by Canadian bobtail and loaded trailer racing – this year’s event is expected to exceed 20,000 spectators in attendance, and over 50 competitors!
