A family owned and operated trucking company is fighting driver turnover by offering skilled, safe truckers the pay and benefits they deserve along with beautiful equipment to operate.
Oklahoma-based trucking company Hurricane Express recently announced that they are adding to their eye-catching fleet of custom trucks in 2020.
The new fleet of custom trucks represent the Hurricane Express belief that the best way to fight driver turnover is to find the best drivers, give them great equipment, and keep them happy so they stay.
Company leaders recognize that your truck says a lot about you — so they let drivers call the shots in terms of color. After just 90 days with Hurricane Express, drivers are eligible for a Peterbilt 579 UltraLoft with their choice of unique color combinations. Other exterior features include 16” drop visors with 22 lights, stainless steel cab and sleeper light panels, front and rear facing cowl lights, lighted stainless steel hood extension panels.
The 2021 Peterbilt 579 trucks feature Cummins X15 engines with 1850 torque (which is designed to get .5 mpg better fuel economy than last year’s X15) and an 18 speed manual transmission that allows drivers to wait until 900 rpm’s before downshifting, greatly reducing the amount of shifting necessary.
Driver comfort amenities in the 2021 Peterbilt trucks include XM Bluetooth radio, a ThermoKing Tripak Evolution 2, AC power inverter, microwave, built-in refrigerator, 43″ Smart TV, leather driver and passenger seats, leather smart wheel, blackout RV style cab curtains, and wood cabinets. And with cold weather coming, it’s good to know that the trucks also featured an Espar diesel-fired heater that is divorced from TriPac so you can stay warm without idling the truck engine or running the TriPac.
The philosophy at Hurricane Express is to reward veteran drivers for their years of hard work behind the wheel. The company offers positions to drivers with strong tenure and excludes applicants under 30 years old from holding driving positions within the company. The company’s ultimate goal is to provide experienced drivers with a family-friendly atmosphere and great pay and benefits to finish out their careers.
Hurricane Express was founded in 1992 and remains family owned and operated to this day, specializing in hauling meat, seafood, and produce. They offer a variety of driving career options, including OTR, local and regional, and lease-purchase from anywhere in the U.S. If you’re ready to join the Hurricane Express family, you can click here to get started.
