Driver Found Dead After Truck Sat Two Days at Truck Stop, Cause of Death Unclear

Police say that they discovered the body of a semi truck driver at a California truck stop after his employer called for a welfare check.

Authorities were called to the Pilot truck stop in Hesperia, California, just after 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 11.

Police say that they were responding to an employer who was concerned about the welfare of their driver after the truck did not move from the truck stop parking lot for two days.

When officers arrived on scene, they found the truck driver deceased in the cab of the truck. It isn’t clear how long he had been dead.

The identity of the truck driver has not yet been released.

Police have revealed few details about the truck driver’s death and it isn’t clear at this time whether foul play is suspected.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
