Fallen trucker ‘goes out big’ with emotional final ride convoy

Published:

A trucker’s son shared a stirring video of his father’s final ride to the cemetery accompanied by dozens of his brothers and sisters in trucking.

The video was shared on Facebook on March 11 by user Luke Shuman as a tribute after his truck driver father Mark Shuman passed away.

In the video, you can see that Shuman is accompanied on his last trip by a convoy of semi truck drivers who Luke says “came out to ride with dad one last time.” The video was filmed by Chris McConnell, who uses drone footage to capture the epic scope of Mark Shuman’s final ride.

Luke Shuman writes:

On Wednesday, March 6th, we took my Dad (Mark Shuman) on his final ride. This was a very emotional, yet proud day for everybody. Anyone who knew my Dad knows he likes to go big. You can tell just by looking at some of the trucks he designed in this video. Everyone came together to help my Dad go out big. It was truly amazing and it could not have been more perfect. I want to thank each individual driver who came out to ride with dad one last time. The sound of all of your horns blaring at once gave me goosebumps, a smile from ear to ear, and many tears. I had a friend of mine, Chris McConnell, come out to film the procession so that everyone could see how amazing it was. Needless to say he did an outstanding job capturing every moment. I couldn’t be happier with the entire outcome. Again, thank you to everyone who came to help, pay respect, and show support. I know Dad was proud.

We are asking for donations towards St.Judes children’s in Dads honor. Dad had supported St.Judes long before he was diagnosed with brain cancer and it became very important to him. Follow this link to do so. Thank you all who donate. https://fundraising.stjude.org/site/TR/GiftFunds/GiftFunds…
