A surreal scene was caught on camera after flash freezing caused eleven semi trucks to slide off of a Missouri highway in less than a mile.
The incident was captured on the morning of Wednesday, January 23, by KHQA reporter Hailey Vetterlein on Highway 36 near Monroe, Missouri.
Vetterlein’s video shows that strong winds and slick roads proved to be too much for nearly a dozen truck drivers on a short span of highway.
In the video, you can also see that two of the trucks were involved in a collision. However, none of the trucks that slid off overturned and no major injuries have been reported.
Missouri troopers remind drivers to slow down on icy roadways
The main traveled highways are improving but there are still some areas across the Troop with very slick roads. Expect some delays in the area of US 36 and Rt J east of Monroe City as tow trucks are working in the area to remove numerous tractor trailer units from the median. pic.twitter.com/ZjKPTKLUOk
