This morning, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) announced that a bridge damaged by barges that came loose has partially reopened after several days of closure.
On September 25, TxDOT announced that two eastbound lanes and two westbound lanes on the I-10 bridge over the San Jacinto River near Houston are now open, though drivers should still expect delays due to crews making repairs. .

TxDOT also shared video of traffic moving along the bridge along with a ‘thank you’ to the crews who worked to repair the bridge.

TxDOT says that it could take months before the bridge is fully repaired.
The bridge was closed on Friday, September 20, after it was struck by at least two barges that broke lose on the San Jacinto River during severe weather caused by Tropical Storm Imelda.
