Kindhearted firefighters take care of injured trucker’s furry co-pilot

Published:

A group of Connecticut firefighters stepped up to the plate to help an OTR driver’s dog after her trucker dad would up in the hospital.

On Friday, July 12, the Danbury Fire Department shared a Facebook post detailing how they were taking care of a trucker’s chihuahua named Camilla.

They wrote:

Earlier this morning Engine Company 24 responded to assist EMS at a medical incident where a over the road truck driver was injured and was transported to the Hospital. While assisting EMS the crew realized the driver had a co-pilot with him, a chihuahua named Camilla. The crew offered to take the dog back to the station and care for it while the driver was attended to at the hospital. Camilla got to enjoy a ride in the fire truck and offered some cold water and snack at the station. As you can see, Camilla has made herself at home at Danbury Fire Dept. Engine 24 in Commerce Park. #DanburyFire#DanburyCT#Danbury#HereToHelp#Camillathedog#EMSAssist#PublicService#K9#FireDog#Sparky

The clearly-smitten firefighters also shared several photos of their new canine friend.

Hoping you get returned to your trucker dad soon, Camilla!
