Livestock hauler refuses to stop for vegan protester blocking road

A vegan protester says that she was injured after a very close encounter with a semi truck driver hauling livestock.

In a now-viral video shared on September 4, animal rights protester Kat Howard is holding a sign that says “Everyone Deserves To Say Goodbye” as she stands outside of a Olymel meat processing plant during an August 19 protest event.

As a truck driver hauling pigs approaches the plant, Howard appears to be struck by the truck as she stands in its path.

You can view the video below.

And the vegans are terrorists for sitting in a barn, how about trying to run someone over in a crosswalk? #thesavemovement #reddeeranimalsave #olymel #mightdoesntmakeright

On August 30, Horner set up a fundraiser to help her pay for medical costs. She writes,

I am broke, financially, physically, and mentally.

This may be an injury I have for life, it terrifies me because I don’t know if I’ll ever get back to what I was capable of doing.

I have no spare change for fuel to make it to physiotherapy or events for the rest of the month. My little jobs that I do to keep afloat I’m not really able to do at the moment because of my back from the semi truck driver hitting me with his truck at the vigil on Aug 19

Who knew trying to run someone over because of differences of views was a legal thing… wonder how much the professional semi truck drivers life has changed by having to pay the $788 fine
