Texas police say that a truck driver will be facing charges after he allegedly fell asleep and drove off of an interstate overpass, falling hard onto the roadway below.
The incident happened around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Authorities say that a truck driver hauling a tanker full of milk struck a highway barrier and then crashed off of an I-30 overpass onto the MacArthur Boulevard intersection below.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The truck driver was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The Dallas Morning News reports that the unidentified truck driver fell asleep prior to the crash. Police say that the truck driver will be cited for failure to maintain control.
