National Guard escorts convoy of trucks hauling life-saving supplies to flood victims

Watch as state police and the National Guard escort of convoy full of trucks loaded up with much-needed supplies to help residents of the city of Fremont, Nebraska, which was devastated by recent floods.

The video was shared on Sunday, March 17, by local woman and Facebook user Tammi McElroy – Heun, who writes:

This about enough to make anyone tear up, help has arrived Fremont! ❤️

Troopers and the National Guard just escorted this caravan of HyVee & Hilland trucks and fuel tankers into Fremont from Omaha. The trucks brought in much needed water, food and gas this evening.

Fremont NE is one of many communities surrounded by water for the past several days. Took about 2 1/2 hours, and the roads aren’t open to the public, but NDOT literally plowed a way through the mud to get us here!

McElroy – Heun was so grateful to see the truckers hauling relief supplies that she even got her photo taken with one of the truck drivers.

McElroy – Heun’s video has gone viral and has been viewed over 850,000 times in less than 24 hours.
