Nearly 1000 were without power after semi crashed into power pole

The Tennessee Department of Transportation says that a roadway will be closed down until some time on Friday night due to downed power lines caused by a semi truck crash.

The crash happened on the morning of Friday, July 5, in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee, according to WBIR.

Authorities say that a semi truck traveling on SR 139 (also known as Old Dandridge Pike) for some reason left the roadway and crashed into a power pole.

No injuries were reported.

The crash resulted in utility damage that 954 customers in Strawberry Plains without power.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

SR 139 is expected to remain closed until midnight.
