Tennessee police say that a busy intestate will be shut down until further notice after a bridge partially collapsed into the roadway.
The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 1, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, according to WVLTV.
Chatanooga police say that a railing from a bridge collapsed onto I-75 at the I-24 split. In images captured at the scene, you can see that one passenger vehicle was damaged during the incident.

Chattanooga police have confirmed that one person suffered a non life-threatening injury as a result of the bridge collapse.

All lanes of traffic on I-75 are blocked and expected to remain closed until 4 p.m. The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) says that “All southbound vehicles have been re-routed to I-24 West. All southbound vehicles have been re-routed to I-24 West.”
Major traffic backups have been reported.
The cause of the bridge collapse is unclear.
