Connecticut police are asking for help in locating a man who they believe was responsible for the shooting death of a truck driver student last month.
The fatal shooting happened on Saturday, January 26, at the New England Tractor Trailer Training School in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
According to police, 28 year old Eric Salters, who was a student at the truck driver training school, was shot at least six times in broad daylight as he went to his personal vehicle during class.
Lt. Christopher LaMaine described the circumstances surrounding the shooting: “The evidence indicates that when he (Salters) went to his car during class, he was confronted by a lone gunman, who opened fire on him without provocation. (Salters) was struck multiple times, including once in the head.”
Salters was transported to the hospital in critical condition but later died as a result of his injuries in the hospital on February 4.
A month later, the Bridgeport Police Department has released surveillance video from an apartment building on Canal Street in Shelton, Connecticut, that they hope will help them solve the case.
Police say that they are looking to identify the person who is carrying the backpack in the video as they believe that he is connected with the murder of Salters.
Police say that they have already identified the person with the cane seen in the video.
