Police: Car driver crashed into semi, fled, drove 4 miles without tire

Wisconsin police have issued multiple charges against a motorist following a hit and run crash with a semi truck.

The crash occurred just after 2 a.m. on November 21 in Racine County, Wisconsin.

According to a news release from the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, 23 year old motorist Drew Stanton crashed his car into a semi truck on southbound I-41 in Yorkville.

Police say that Stanton fled the scene of the crash, losing a tire in the process.

Officers were able to locate the vehicle more than 4 miles from the crash site “driving on a sparking front driver’s side wheel rim.”

Stanton reportedly failed a field sobriety test and was arrested.

Police say that Stanton is facing multiple charges including OWI 1st offense, hit and run accident, and reckless driving.
