Man charged with murder in road rage shooting of truck driver

Police have issued arrested and charged a South Carolina man for his role in the road rage shooting death of a truck driver.

Twenty-one year old Karrington Christian Holmes has been charged with homicide and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Holmes was initially taken into custody on an unrelated marijuana charge on Sunday, May 5, according to the Post and Courier. While Holmes was being held in police custody, officers were able to link him to the May 1 suspected road rage shooting death of 49 year old truck driver Rodney William Middleton.

South Carolina Homicide

South Carolina police are hunting for a motorist who they say is responsible for the shooting death of a semi truck driver.

The shooting took place around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, in Goose Creek, South Carolina, according to a news release from the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department.

Police say that the incident began with “aggressive driving between the driver of a red semi-tractor and a silver or gray sedan on Highway 52 near the intersection of Central Avenue in Goose Creek.”

During the suspected road rage incident, the sedan driver reportedly shot 49 year old truck driver Rodney Middleton.

Middleton was transported to a local hospital, where he later died as a result of his injuries.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office says that the incident is being investigated as a homicide. The car driver remains at large.
