Police say trucker hauling house fled the scene after downing power lines, pole

North Carolina police are offering a cash reward for information leading to a truck driver involved in a hit and run incident on Monday morning.

The incident occurred at 9:21 a.m. in Holly Ridge, North Carolina, according to a news release from police.

The Holly Ridge Police Department says that a white semi truck was hauling a mobile home north on US Highway 17 near NC Highway 50 when the mobile home hit the power lines over the highway, snapping the power pole. Police say that “debris fell into the northbound lanes and the dark in color pilot car following the semi witnessed this.”

However, neither vehicle stopped.

A southbound SUV was reportedly damaged by debris on Highway 17.

Police say that they are offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for useful information related to the incident. If you know anything, you’re asked to call the Holly Ridge Police Department at (910) 329-4076.
