Semi crashes after car runs red light, spilling beer in church parking lot

In Utah this morning.

Utah police say that a semi truck hauling a load of beer crashed in a church parking lot this morning.

The crash happened around 6:20 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, in Sandy, Utah.

Police say that the crash occurred because a Toyota Tundra driver ran a red light, forcing a 55 year old semi truck driver hauling beer to swerve.

The two vehicles collided and the semi truck crashed into a retaining wall and then rolled over, dropping approximately 25 feet into a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints parking lot, where the load of beer spilled out.

KSLTV reports that the truck driver had to be extracted from the vehicle and was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

The Toyota driver was reportedly uninjured.
