Semi truck can opener crash caught on dash cam

Published:

A motorist and his dash cam happened to be in the right place at the right time to capture a pretty epic semi truck can opener crash.

The video was captured on July 25 in Manville, New Jersey.

Manville Police Lt. John Crater said that the truck was southbound on North Main Street when it became wedged under the low Lehigh Valley Underpass but the driver kept going anyway, completely annihilating the trailer.

The YouTube user who shared the video wrote “7/25/2019 – Another trucker ignoring the low bridge sign in Manville NJ, totally destroying the trailer. Notice the second truck stopped on the side of the road. He was smart enough to read the sign.”

Local business owner Denise DeSantis said, “The guy didn’t even slow down. He kept on going, not sure what he was thinking.”

Forty-nine year old Illinois-based truck driver David Katsantones was cited for disregard of a traffic control device and reckless driving, according to Patch.com.

A similar crash happened at the same bridge on July 18.

You can see the dash cam clip below.
