New details are emerging about a series of shootings that originated at a Florida truck stop yesterday and ended in a police standoff on I-10.
The initial shooting occurred on December 19 at the Pilot truck stop in Baldwin, Florida.
Local news outlet First Coast News reports that trucking company Rinaudo Enterprises, Inc. safety inspector Todd Phillips and coworker Joe Parcell were at the truck stop attempting to recover equipment from a company driver who had recently been fired.
An argument ensued and the suspect shot both Phillips and Parcell.
Phillips died at the scene. Parcell was airlifted to the hospital.
The suspect then fled the scene. Police later found him parked off of eastbound I-10 about a mile from the Pilot truck stop.
The suspect opened fire on police. Three officers returned fire and gunfire struck the suspect.
The suspect was taken to the hospital.
The suspect’s identity has not yet been released.

Florida police say that at least one person is dead following a shooting at a truck stop this morning.
The incident reportedly started with a shooting at the Pilot truck stop in Baldwin, Florida.

One person was found dead at the truck stop from gunshot wounds.
First Coast News reports that a witness heard two drivers arguing and then heard two gun shots and saw one of the drivers lying on the ground.

This shooting is reportedly connected to a second officer-involved shooting on I-10 about a mile from the Pilot, where a person driving a semi truck eastbound was reportedly shot by police.
Two other people were seriously injured, local news outlets report. No police officers were hurt.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office says that the suspect has been taken to the hospital.
