California police say that a skydiver lost her life yesterday after she crashed into a semi truck.
The incident happened around 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, on southbound Highway 99 in Lodi, California, according to a report from the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
According to CHP, the unidentified 28 year old woman was skydiving with a group from the Lodi Parachute Center when she strayed off course during her descent.

The woman crashed into the trailer of a semi truck, then fell onto the shoulder of the roadway.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
All of the other members of the skydiving group were able to reach the ground unharmed.
Windy conditions were reported in the area at the time of the fatal incident.
Car hauler Rick Costa said that he’s seen several other skydivers over Highway 99 prior to Thursday’s incident: “I never thought it was very safe. The way they do it, they actually fly over the freeway and come back to grass when they land.”
CHP and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the woman’s death.
Between 1999 to 2018, 16 people have died jumping from planes at the Lodi Parachute Center, KCRA reports.
The incident caused heavy traffic backups on Highway 99, but all lanes were reopened by 6:40 p.m.
