Connecticut police are searching for a suspect who opened fire on a man outside of a truck driver training school, leaving him seriously injured.

The shooting took place around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, at the New England Tractor Trailer Training School in Bridgeport, according to the Connecticut Post.

Police say that 28 year old Eric Salters, who was a student at the truck driver training school, was shot at least six times as he went to his personal vehicle during class.

Police Lt. Christopher LaMaine details the incident, “The evidence indicates that when he (Salters) went to his car during class, he was confronted by a lone gunman, who opened fire on him without provocation. (Salters) was struck multiple times, including once in the head.”

Salters was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. He is expected to survive.

At this time, there is no known motive for the shooting.

Police are actively investigating the shooting, but no arrests have been made.
