A tanker truck driver is lucky to be alive following an explosion and fire at an oil and chemical storage terminal in California this week.
The explosion occurred just before 6 a.m. on Monday, June 3, in Carson, California, according to the LA Times.

The explosion happened as workers were loading jet fuel into a tanker truck at the Kinder Morgan terminal.
The explosion was reportedly felt a mile away and sent up huge plumes of black smoke into the sky.

The tanker truck driver was taken to the hospital but only suffered minor burns. Three other people were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
It took 100 firefighters about an hour to put out the fire.
The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
