A truck driver recently shared a touching Facebook post about his encounter with a family at a truck stop while he was waiting on a load.
The post was shared after truck driver Michael Smith after he had a chance encounter at a North Carolina truck stop.
Smith writes:
While I’m sitting here at the Loves in Newton Nc waiting on my load to cut, I seen a red SUV pull up beside me. As a truck driver my initial thought was this guy is going to come and give me the run around on some excuse about how he has no job and can’t afford to feed his family, out of gas, or one of the many excuses people make to bum money off truck drivers. It was a family, a mom, dad, & son. The father and the son got out so I rolled down my window, next thing I knew the father picked the little boy up and he said I hope you’ve had a great Driver Appreciation Week & handed me this bag of candy. It blew my mind because he said that the little boy told him to stop and wanted to give it to me. It just goes to show that there can be good people in this world and gives me hope for the future generations. This honestly just made my week 100% better.
Smith’s post received more than 900 likes in a matter of days.
The post was so widely shared that it even made it back to the family that Smith met at the truck stop.
